What this portal keeps about you

The Ontario Bobsleigh Skeleton Association runs this portal so athletes can register for camps in one place instead of by email. This page says what it stores and why.

What is collected

• Your email address — used to sign you in. There is no password.
• The athlete's full name and date of birth — the date of birth decides whether a parent has to sign the waiver, and is on the waiver itself.
• A parent or guardian's name when the athlete is under 18, because OBSA's waiver requires it.
• Typed signatures, with the date, the exact waiver text agreed to, and the IP address and browser used to sign. That record is what makes the signature meaningful.
• Which camps and which days you are attending, your shoe size if you ask to borrow spikes, and whether you say you have paid.

What is deliberately not collected

No emergency contacts, no second guardian, no relationship, no address, no medical information. OBSA does not transport athletes to camps — parents travel with their own children — so it does not hold details it is not responsible for.

Who can see it

You, and two OBSA volunteers who administer the camps. Nobody else. It is not sold, shared or used for anything but running the camps you registered for.

Where it is stored

In a hosted Postgres database run by Neon, on servers outside Canada. Sign-in emails are sent through Resend. Both are ordinary service providers; neither uses your information for their own purposes.

How long it is kept

Signed waivers are kept at least as long as the membership year they cover, because that is the period they apply to. OBSA is still setting a retention period beyond that. Until it does, records are kept — and you can ask for yours to be deleted at any time, whether or not a period has been set.

Removing your information

You can remove an athlete from your own account at any time, which deletes their registrations, signatures and spike request with them. To have everything removed, including your sign-in account, email admin@ontariobobsleighskeleton.ca.

One thing this portal cannot speak for: the ORDA facility waiver is signed on ORDA's own system, and what they keep is covered by their privacy policy, not this one. All OBSA records is that you told us it was done.
